This website serves as the Design Project presentation for Scott Marsh for the MAE 451 Class at the University at Buffalo.

The Mission:

To create a comprehensive look at the Design process and it's methods. This will be accomplished via personal experiences and observations, interpersonal activities and  projects, as well as global observations regarding the world of design that encompasses each and every one of us.

A Design "Introduction"

Design exists everywhere on the face of this planet. From obvious locations such as cities, factories, and every business, to even the most remote village tribe. Even isolated Amazon Tribes of Peru have designed huts to use as shelters, tools for hunting and gathering, and ornamental jewelry. The pervasiveness of design makes it difficult to even attempt to narrow the focus of this assignment sufficiently. As an example of the sheer volume of this, I need to just look about my desk and see the printer, keyboard, mouse as well as computer itself. Literally thousands of individual components assembled into one "machine". There is art on the walls, picture frames, pencil holders, file cabinets, calculators, remote controls, bank statements,  and children's toys. Every single item I see around me was designed either for functionality, aesthetics, or some combination of both.
